This is Kylie debuting on the 2026 blog. We joined blogger in 2006 so we have officially been bloggers for 20 years with a few year break in the middle. 😛
In Wanaka we celebrated Ty’s 16th birthday with birthday pancakes on the deck, going to puzzling world and out for dinner.

Marc and I came to Wanaka 17 years ago when we first came to NZ and puzzling world was definitely a highlight for me.
The kids and I did the maze where you had to find 4 different coloured towers. We did the first 3 quite quickly but the green one was elusive and took quite a while.
Lake Wanaka. We have had beautiful weather this whole trip and it did not disappoint here.
We had a nice birthday dinner out at one of the local restaurants. Can’t believe we have a 16 year old!!
The next day Marc and Ty and Zeke did a hike up the mountain that we could see from our place. It was a sunny hot day and unfortunately Marc forgot our water filter and didn’t pack enough water to get to the peak comfortably. Although in retrospect they would have been fine as there was a nice cool breeze on the way down. Still a gorgeous spot even without peak views!
And later that night we did a look out hike to get a better view of the lake. 
We all bought books on the way out of town so are happy to be restocked. On to Lake Pukaki!
