previously mentioned

persuant to my previous post, kylie just came across this article by malcolm gladwell (the author of "blink") that takes a slightly different tack on the logical lapses associated with categories (dealing in this case with pitbulls and racial profiling) which i found very interesting.

also, i thought i would post the lyrics to a rage against the machine song that seems more topical today than when it was written 15 years ago. there is a common misconception out there that rage is all about drugs and misogynism and jumping around and yelling. while it is true that there is a lot of jumping around and yelling, zack de la rocha actually directs his (copious) anger succinctly, intelligently and topically at racial sexual and economic disparity, oppression and apathy. one of my favourite music videos of all time (rage makes amazing videos) is the one for sleep now in the fire.

another great one is a parody of the old gap commercials and north american consumerism called Guerilla Radio. i have a hoody that quotes the end of this song, actually a call for a kind of communist revolution.

anyways, Bullet in the Head is a powerful comment on the media's collusion in our societal complacency. if you are easily offended or if you are irritated by loose grammar then i suggest you skip reading this and check back in later for another update on niko's fluffy tail.

Bullet in the Head - zack de la rocha
